I am 78 years old and must walk to the mailbox every day. Every winter I fear of falling on ice and snow that builds up on my drive. Thanks to these Spikes I can walk down my steep drive to get the mail never fearing that I will fall and break a bone.
They're great. I walk an icy trail on level ground our miles every day. I don't know how they would be for serious climbing. I had boots with shorter built in cleats which worked ok but I didn't like the traction I was getting and I slipped a few times. These give me excellent traction, and the rubber is soft enough that they're is to put on and take off. I've only had them for two days so I don't know how long they will last.
Can't imaging my trip without this! Went to Lake Tahoe for an overnight backpacking trip finally. Glad and fortunate I have brought these! The trail was covered completed with water from the melting snow and in early morning it was literally an ice trail. But with this I had no problem stepping anywhere I need, it gave me full confidence on icy trail and snow.
Perfect for hiking in icy conditions. Easy to put on and take off. Stay in place. Does their job. Highly recommend - quality at an excellent price. I recommend to all of my friends!
Please, consider acquiring these safety cleats for all the folks you love and would like to protect from accidental slipping on unexpected snow or ice, when ever winter comes knocking. My wife and I suffer from bad backs and simply walking on uneven snow and ice conditions this year, was made so much safer and less stressful, just by using this product!
I only used these on a hike for about 5 minutes this past weekend (most of the snow was soft enough where I didn't need them) but for the time I did use them it made it SO much easier. I almost wish I had put them on sooner because I'm sure it would've made the snowy part of the hike easier! Not sure about durability or anything since I hardly used them.
We bought these for a recent trip to Yosemite because we had read some of the trails were still iced over. They came in extremely handy and were good to have. They fit over regular hiking boots pretty easily and they do bite into ice and snow pretty well.
My husband took a bad fall resulting in broken bones last winter so we both resolved to be better about wearing grippers. I bought 2 pair of the same size based on the sizing chart. The fit is great and we can tromp around like a mountain goat.
The trail was mostly packed snow and ice with some rock sections. Even at my weight, and almost jogging downhill, I noticed no deformation in the spikes or connections on these microspikes.
